Getting a Heeling NRG Puppy

At Heeling NRG, our dogs are first and foremost our family. Each and every puppy that we raise is an extension of that family. Our feelings of love and responsibility for those puppies do not end when the puppy leaves our house. We make a lifelong commitment to the wellbeing of each of our puppies. It is with this in mind that we place each puppy. When placing our puppies, we want to find people who are looking for their next heart dog, who will provide their new puppy with a loving home for the rest of their lives, who understand the commitment of getting a new dog and who understand that they are becoming a part of the Heeling NRG family. Here are a few things that we look for in our puppies' new homes and their new homes like about us.

Placement Process:

We require an $1000 non-refundable deposit to hold place on the waiting list.

Coming to get a puppy from Heeling NRG is not a made to order process. The more information you give with regards to your life and what you want in a puppy, the better we can match you with your perfect dog. We have an application on our website to get you started with the minimum information we need. We take the time to get to know each family member and the needs of the whole family. Once we feel that you will be a good match for our program we begin to collect deposits. We take into consideration your activity level, lifestyle, and experience with this breed. We match each family with the right dog for them in terms of temperament and activity level. We understand that many people have requests based on gender and colour, and while we do take those into consideration, we make final placements based on the puppy's personality and temperament, not coat and/or eye colour. Through experience, both our mentors and ourselves have found this to have the most success. This process is a long one and usually decisions about placements are not made until 7-8 weeks, when we are sure we know the puppy inside and out.

When you buy a puppy from Heeling NRG, you are becoming a member of an extended family.

From the puppies in our first litter to our current litter, all the families are encouraged to stay in touch, share photos and ask questions as much as possible. Our puppies come back for visits, we have birthday parties and play dates. We have an online forum for posting questions, pictures, videos, and we keep in touch with all our families. We encourage and applaud every milestone and are here for advice if needed.

We are picky about our puppy placements. Here are some things we are looking for:

  • Our dogs are only sold to homes where the dog will live in the home and be considered members of the family.
  • All of our puppies are sold on non-breeding agreements.
  • We prefer that our puppies are raised on a recommended list of kibbles, dehydrated raw foods, or preferably raw food. There is some preference given to homes who will feed raw, however that is not the main priority over an otherwise great home.
  • We insist on training classes for our puppies in their new homes and prefer positive reinforcement training for our puppies.

We encourage minimal vaccinations.

Our preferred vaccine schedule is:

  • 8 Weeks
  • 12 Weeks
  • 16 Weeks
  • Rabies - 18 weeks or later if allowable by law.
  • Rabies - 1st booster given one year from first vaccine, then every three years, as required by law until 7 years of age.
  • Titer regularly, and booster for core vaccines only as necessary

What you know you will get from us:

  • Support for the lifetime of the dog and beyond.
  • Training, nutrition and health advice is just an email or phone call away.
  • Written contract and guarantees.
  • If you live in the area, your dog always has a place to stay when you go away.

If you think you'd make a great Heeling NRG puppy owner, we’d love to hear from you
